RushAdventures was established in 2004 by Christopher and Bethan Chapman. With a passion for the outdoors and exceptional experience in customer service, we set up RushAdventures and began offering quality affordable ski holidays in the French ski resorts of Chamonix and Les Gets.
With three catered chalets and two self catered Chalets in Les Gets we pride ourselves on being a small friendly company and unlike the big tour operators we are able to offer very personal tailor made holidays. We also work closely with all our staff to ensure you have a great season and all our guests are well looked after and happy.
All of our staff come to work a winter season because they want to ski almost every day for four months, on some of the best slopes in the world. You don't have to be a good skier – it doesn't even matter if you've never tried skiing before – but you need to be a fairly sporty, outdoors person to contemplate a season in the Alps.
Applicants under 21 years old need to show exceptional qualities to be considered. All applicants must be able to legally work in France and therefore must be a member of an EU state or hold a valid working visa. Working a season is extremely hard work, especially when you start work early, ski all day, then go out in the evening. We have received fantastic feedback from our staff over the last 6 years, with many returning for holidays aswell.
Chalet Host Job Description: Your responsibilities will include all operational aspects of running a catered chalet and providing a high quality service. You must ensure that our high standards, procedures and company image are maintained at all times. You need to be highly organised and adaptable with excellent communication, hospitality and customer service skills. Your role will include the following:
- Welcoming guests to the chalet
- Daily housekeeping in the chalet
- Assisting the chef and running the front of house
Chef Job Description: Your responsibilities will include all aspects of catering for the guests in our chalets. You must ensure that our high standards, procedures and company image are maintained at all times. You will need to be creative, hardworking, highly organised, adaptable and have lots of stamina. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the chalet, but your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent food for our guests that exceeds their expectations. You will be preparing and serving a cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and a delicious three course evening meal. You will be doing this for SIX days a week for up to 20 people. Applicants should ideally hold a relevant cooking qualification and demonstrate significant experience in professional kitchens obtained from established restaurants. Your role will include the following:
- Weekly ordering of food/drink and stock taking
- Working within set budgets
- Daily food preparation in the chalet
- Maintaining a clean kitchen
- Helping on changeover days with housekeeping if required
About You: We require one chalet host and one chef to work in each of our chalets who would ideally be a couple or two friends. You will need to have the following:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confidence and outgoing personality
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Be flexible and enthusiastic at all times
- Ability to work within a team
- Some experience in the catering industry – chefs position
