Frame Options

Aluminium is extremely stiff, lightweight and strong. Aluminium bikes have a reputation for having excellent power transfer and stiffness.

Carbon Fibre is a very lightweight and stiff material. As a non metal there are huge design advantages when using carbon fibre to build bikes. The material can be manipulated into aerodynamic shapes and fine tuned for increased stiffness and strength.

Steel is a very popular and traditional material for building bikes. Steel frames are renowned for their comfort, strength and durability. Steel can also be easy to fix as dents or bends can be repaired.

Titanium bike frames are extremely lightweight and offer a smooth ride that is similar to the ride quality of a good steel frame.

Brake Options

Caliper brakes are available in many different styles, the most common is the dual pivot brake. It comprises of two main parts called arms. They offer great stopping power as well as easy to control braking and are simple to setup and maintain.

Disc brakes consist of a brake disc that is mounted to a specific hub and a brake caliper that attaches to the fork/frame. The brake cable type can be cable, hydraulic or a mixture of the two. A major advantage of disc brakes is that they offer excellent braking in the wet and cold due to the braking action not occurring on a wet rim but instead on a disc rotor.
