Ski School

Les Gets was the birth place of the French Ski Schools and now offers a fantastic choice of French, English or Dutch speaking ski schools for private or group lessons. The best instructors get booked up a long way in advance so it is worth while booking your lessons as soon as you have booked your accommodation and flights. You will need to know your current ski/snowboard level i.e. beginner, confident on blue runs / red runs / black runs.

Private lessons offer tailored personal tuition and you tend to advance much quicker. Private lessons are normally available for up to 6 people so if you have friends or family traveling with you of the same level this can be a good cost effective option.

Group lessons are more affordable as the size of the group can be up to 8 people and they offer a very sociable approach to learning to ski.

The Les Gets Ski Area

Is an excellent resort for groups, families or couples looking to ski together. The ski area is particularly good for beginners and intermediates, but still offers challenging runs for stronger skiers, with direct access to steeper, longer runs in Avoriaz, including the famous “Swiss Wall”.

The village of Les Gets sits in the heart of the ski area with the popular Chavannes Bowl on one side with its direct links to Morzine and the Portes du Soleil ski area. On the other side of the valley sits the Mont Chery area, offering quieter slopes, lots of off pistes skiing and fantastic views of Mont Blanc.

The Chavannes Bowl – The most popular area for the ski schools and beginner skiers. It offers separate beginner only areas with wide green, blue and red runs. There are also some fantastic black slopes which moguls and more technical descents. From the top of the Perriers Express lift (located right next to our Chalets) you have direct access the rest of the ski area including Chamossiere, Nyon, Ranfolly, Rosta, Morzine and beyond. There are several tree lined runs which can be a real delight on powder days.

Mont-Cheri – The other side of the village is the Mont Cheri bubble lift. The ski area is brilliant for more advanced skiers and anyone wanting a more challenging day. The southern slopes offer wide red and blue runs and some great restaurants for that essential vin chaud or hot chocolate. There is also an amazing area for off piste skiing between the trees. You can even ski down through secret paths going all the way back to the village centre. On the north face there is a steep red and a challenging black run leading down to the Col d’Encrenaz and several small mountain restaurants at the bottom.
