Centered around the stunning Lac Annecy, the Maxi Race is an annual ultra-trail race offering challenging terrain and stunning alpine views.  Options include a full tour, half or quarter tour of Lake Annecy – via the mountains surrounding the lake of course!  Races for younger children to experience the same finish line as the elite runners that this event attracts are available for under 10 years old – a must do for future trail runners 🙂

A popular race – for good reason!  The route and organisation are both superb.  The 2am (staggered) start for the 100km race means the majority of runners will experience a stunning sunrise at the first summit and many will enjoy a daylight finish and a dip in the lake to recover!  The race cleverly offers alternative routes for those who don’t quite make the cut offs to give the maximum number of runners the chance to get to the finish and enjoy the well earned celebration of crossing the line!  The 100km is also offered as a two day race if this suits you better or you want to make a whole weekend of this awesome route.

The weekend is a celebration of trail running with a festival feel to the trail village/start & finish line.  However, entries fill incredibly fast – for the 2024 races, some were filled in just 7 minutes after entries opened – so if this sounds like the race for you, don’t hang around!  Entries for the 100km open at 11am on 11th October and for all other races at 11am on 11th November 2024.
