Experience crystal clear waters and golden soft sands in some of the most stunning locations on earth. There’s a whole host of places to visit nearby where you can swim safely. Many of the beaches have life guards and water sports activities available. If you want a more private experience there are several fantastic hikes that take you to waterfalls and high mountain lakes.
Focus on CLIMBING / VIA FERRATA
Once you start exploring this region you soon realise how many great safe choices of places to climb there are. Bolted routes, multi pitch routes and plenty of choice on difficulty rating. Climb as a pair or with your family. Another great option is to hire a guide and explore the bolted trails nearby where you are always attached to the safety equipment. Called Via Ferrata, this is a great option for less knowledgable climbers who still want to experience the thrill of climbing.
Focus on WAKE BOARDING / WATER SKIING
Focus on PARAGLIDING
Take to the sky and see the mountains like never before. Using the thermal uplifts you can fly with your guide over the rooftops and villages of Les Gets and Morzine. A great memorable experience and something definitely worthwhile ticking off your list of things to do in your life. What better place to experience paragliding for the first time. There are also several schools offering training so you can get your wings and fly solo.
Focus on WHITE WATER RAFTING / HYDROSPEEDING
Fast flowing water, outstanding scenery and heart pumping rapids. Descend the river in a raft or go solo holding onto a specially adapted float? This is a brilliant way to experience the thrills (and spills) that the rivers around us offer. In Morzine the Dranse river offering some exciting rapids to travel down; whilst in Samoens the Giffre river has some amazing canyons to travel through. Suitable for kids and adults, this is a great half day outing of getting wet and having a laugh.
Focus on HIKING AND NORDIC WALKING
There’s so many good walking and hiking trails around Les Gets. It’s difficult to pick our favourite route and to be honest after 16 years of living here, there’s still so many for us to discover and explore. We can see the big cross at the top of the Pic du Marcelly from our Chalet and love walking up here in the Autumn with our kids to see all the amazing Autumnal colours. We have plenty of routes, maps and walking guides in our Chalets to help you choose the right hike for you.
Focus on DAY TRIPS FROM LES GETS
If you want to explore the region in full and discover some amazing places nearby, then we are happy to put together day trips for you. Chamonix is only 1 hour away and offers the impressive views of Mont Blanc and the glaciers surrounding it. Lake Annecy is also an hour away and provides plenty of activities to do once you get there. The medieval city with its stone arches and water canal ways running through the centre provide plenty to see and do.
Focus on GOLF COURSES
If you love your golf then test your skills on some of the best mountain courses in the Alps. Les Gets has an 18 hole course with beautiful panoramic views overlooking Mont Blanc. Avoriaz has a 9 hole course and Flaine has an 18 hole course. There’s also the top rated courses in Chamonix, Evian and Le Grand Bornand.
Focus on CANYONING
Grab a guide and get suited up for your next water based experience. This time you’ll be working your way down the river canyon. Abseiling down waterfalls, jumping into plunge pools and navigating your way over the rocks. Canyoning is great fun and a sure way to take home some great memories of this amazing region.

With a whole host of activities available, Les Gets and the Portes du Soleil are brilliant places to escape with your family.
