Les Gets, the charming French Alpine resort, is a fantastic year-round destination with fun activities for everyone! Whether you’re after a peaceful getaway or thrilling adventures, Les Gets caters to families in winter and summer. Here are some delightful winter activities that will keep you and the kids smiling, with plenty beyond the slopes to explore!
Alta Lumina
Incredible forest park that’s open only after dark where visitors follow a marked trail where a story unfolds itself, brought to life by an incredible light and sound show. Alta Lumina is particularly suitable for families, and children will especially enjoy the immersive experience that takes you into another world. Cost: Adult (16 and over): 19 €, children (5 to 15 years old): 10 €, young children (4 and under): free, family (2 adults + 2 children): 53 € (also open during the summer).
Scandinavian Adventures
Open to children from 2 to 12 years of age, local dog handler, Didier, introduces kids to the world of Nordic dogs and sledding. The 25 minute sessions take place above Les Gets in the snow where children ride on the sleds. Older kids over the age of 10 and adults can take part in ‘Cani-Cross’ where you’re towed along by the dogs with a combination of hiking that takes up to 1.5 hours. Prices: Dog sleds, from 5 to 12 years, 1 child per sled 40 €, 2 children per sled 70 € (maximum weight 70 kilos per sled). Cani-cross, for adults and children over 10, Prices: 20 € per person (minimum 4 people). Booking required.

Electric Snowmobiles
Edwige and Jérémy welcome children to their e-park for an introduction to electric snowmobiling on a closed and secure circuit. It’s aimed at children from 5 to 17 years old, with the world’s first 100% electric snowmobile for teenagers. The Swiss company Quantya is the only firm manufacturing this type of electric snowmobile. Cost: 20 € for a 15-minute introduction / 60 € for a one-hour lesson.
Winter Sledging
There are five controlled areas for tobogganing in Les Gets, away from the marked ski runs (helmets are strongly advised). The areas are, Vieux-Chêne: about 50m of slope / from 2 to 6 yrs, Chavannes: about 50m of slope / from 4 to 6 yrs, Perrières: 100 m of slope / children over 6 yrs, Lac des Ecoles: about 40m of slope / from 4 to 6 yrs, Boule de Gomme: about 25 m of slope / from 4 to 6 yrs.
Ice Skating
Right in the heart of Lets Gets, an outdoor natural ice rink takes centre stage and is a great place to take the kids if they need to expend more energy after a day on the slopes. It’s open every day and during the French school holidays hours are from 10 am to 12 noon and from 2 to 7 pm and from 8 to 10 pm. The rest of the season it’s open from 10 am to 12 noon and from 3 to 7 pm depending on the weather conditions.
Snow Mountain Biking
Guided routes from 2 hours to full day outings are offered so there’s something for all levels & experience! Children from 8 years old can join in on 24 inch bikes, and shotgun seats are available for 2-5 year olds. A fantastic way to experience the snow in a whole new way!

4 Season Luge
New in 2023, enjoy the thrill of the Les Gets 4 season luge! Offering a totally secure ride of over 1km distance at speeds of up to 40km/hour – great family fun for everyone from age 3 and above.
Prices start from €6.50 per luge of up to 2 people and is open all year around.
Cinema
Open all winter, the local cinema offers screenings of new releases in both French and English – family friends screenings at 14h30 mean you can ski, lunch, movie and be home in time for tea! Other screenings are 17h30 & 20h and programmes are available weekly.
Bowling
Open every day from 4pm to 2am, Bar Bowling offers two bowling lanes, pool tables, table football and a lively bar with DJ nights. Early opening on bad weather days offers a great place to entertain the kids if you’re snowed off the mountain for the afternoon!
Spa – Les Sources du Chery
A superb, modern, fully equiped luxury spa in the centre of Les Gets. Teenagers from 14 years old can join their parents for a relaxing spa experience, but younger visitors can book their first massage from just 4 years old. This is an exceptional spa, massage, fitness facility – perfect for non-skiers or a day off the mountain!
