Trail Running Routes

Some of our favourite routes in and around Les Gets and the Portes du Soleil

Trail runners navigating the mountain paths of Les Gets, surrounded by scenic alpine views.
Trail Running Chapelle Jacquicourt
Trail nameDistance KMElevation +/-Estimated Time
Chapelle Jacquicourt166602 hrs

This route follows a forest path up to the chapel and then opens up onto the ski pistes to wind back down to chalet.  A great loop with lots of options to extend route if wanted!  There’s even a cafe for a quick coke and chips after the climbing – perfect.

Man trail running on Mont Chery in Les Gets, enjoying panoramic views of the Alps.
Trail nameDistance KMElevation +/-Estimated Time
Tour du Mont Chery122001.5-2 hrs

Avoid the climbing by taking the bubble lift up and running the marked trail around Mont Chery!  With stunning views of Mont Blanc, wide open trails, rolling single track, three cafes on the route – a perfect recovery run or easy day!  Options to miss out the telecabin and add 400m of climbing, and also of heading all the way to the top of Mont Chery – another 400m of elevation – means this route can be your easy or your long run day!

Trail runner on a scenic path at Col du Cou, surrounded by alpine mountains in Les Gets.
Trail nameDistance KMElevation +/-Estimated Time
Col de Cou from Morzine18.59002.5-3 hrs

From the Nyon carpark, follow the river path up to Lac des Mines d’Or then up to Ferme de Frétérolle (option of a quick coke stop!).  Then onto the winding track up to Col de Cou (alt. 1920m).  We prefer to take the track back down to make this into a looped run – although there are now options to extend this into a day trail run into Switzerland (highly recommended!).  A lovely run back down into Morzine for lunch or extend with a 12km run over the Pleney and over to Les Gets!

Trail running over to Chamonix with the stunning Mer de Glace glacier in the background.

Epic tour to Chamonix!543050Full Day

A truely awesome route from Les Gets to Chamonix – a full mountain day (can be split into two days with an overnight in a refuge!).  You will earn your pizza in Chamonix with over 3000m of climbing – it’s well worth tired legs for the views and satisfaction of a great achievement & adventure!  Whilst there are refuges en route, runner need to be self sufficient for many hours in remote mountains to undertake this challenge!
